Poem: To Catch a Runner

Shying away from a
longing all awaits
lingering in solidarity
pausing before a late jump
or a sudden run

He
should be canny
clever and calm
swiftly plunge his spear before
the hunted
surmise presume
sense fear

i shall flee
outrunning your plans
if you do not
take me aback
stun me
get me
