3 Lagu Orkestra Megah Untuk Pernikahan

Image
Tapi kita lihat kelanjutannya yah... 1. Two Words by Lea Salonga Setiap biolanya bermain bagian solonya, gue merinding! Dan dengan kata-kata "In a while, in a word, every moment now returns" langsung kebayang ngeliat wajah calon suami sambil ngomong 'I Do'. Beratsss. 2. All I Ask from Phantom of The Opera Satu lagi yang selalu bikin nangis waktu Christine nyanyi "Say you love me every waking moments, turn my head with talk of summer time". Rasanya mau nyebur, berenang, tenggelam dan erobik air dalam cinta. 3. For G...

Jokowi Punya Game!

Image
Visit the game: http://jokowi.site.my.id/ The thing with Jokowi is that he's got the youngsters going. He's the closest face of hope from a sea of untrustworthy politicians. To say that he's going to "Selamatkan Indonesia" is quite a hyperbole, in my cynical mind. Cause, it would take an army of believers to do that. One army that would stand for everything that he's doing, and actually goes to action with him. One united army of indonesians, who love their country and could see beyond what it looks like now. We need someone who can capture that hope of a new Indonesia. Someone who can actually do the things he was tasked with. Who is both capable as well as intelligent at it. Whose work will not end after 4 years, but will be continued by his successor. At the end of the day, that man should be able to capture the aspirations of his people, and has to have a history of listening to the people, and doing what is best for them openly and transpare...

A Certain Pramuhendra

Image
-- Now, for another topic away from myself.. I was browsing though Hendra Gunawan's paintings online when I spotted something that isn't quite the colorful, flowy figured women of Hendra. The image was mostly black with confident strokes of highlights making up harsh lighted forms of 3 surgeons, surrounded by a number of nuns and scholarly men (if not the parliament) focused on a man's laid body. I thought to myself, I've never seen something so contemporary, so striking, and so filled with multinational references, coming out of an Indonesian artist -- even when this was my first time trying to look up indonesian art. So, there I was, intrigued by a new complex name; Ariadhitya Pramuhendra. What a javanese, arian name, I thought to myself. As further research shows, this guy graduated from ITB's printmaking major in 2007. A 29 year old young artist with a global caliber. Honored with "Artist of the Year- 2011" by  Soemardja Art Award , an honorable me...

Re: The Dark Side of Dubai

Image
So, I'm currently reading a very interesting, if not heart breaking, article from UK's Independent on Dubai and it's double-realities. I found the content both alarming, and reminiscent of tragedies from ages ago. The article were broken into parts according to the people connected to the issues mentioned. Below you'll find what I think about some of those parts: on part IV - it took years to break out of the caste system: slaves, workers, bourgeois, and the royalties. You might think that every modern societies need to overcome such situations immediately - I mean, isn't that  "slavery system" so late 18th, early 19th century industrial revolution? We're living in the 21st century, now. We gotta think of better ways to progress than that. Oh, come on. Pyramids were built by slaves, just the same way as european industrial revolution were the sweat of child labors and underpaid villagers. American fanciness were also built by underclass immigra...

Diana Instant Back

Image
Since polaroids are getting rare-er and rare-er, Fujifilm Instax gave out their new "polaroid" style instant photographs that could be used in few selected cameras. One of them being Diana Instant Back (and if im not mistaken, Holga). This is one excitement for me because; 1. you do not need to wait for weeks to have your film developed (by then, you'll forget how you take that one amazing picture in your reel) 2. it looks like a polaroid, only you can use it on the amazing diana 3. it's polaroid! should i say more? sadly, it's way over my budget. this guy costs about 100 bucks. and i think, it's a little too much for me who's goal of getting one of these is just "for fun". i'll wait... or sadly, pass...?

isn't gmail the cutest?

Image
in case you dont know, Gmail has sets of themes for your email dashboard. One of my favorite is the Bus Stop theme. It changes according to your area's weather condition. It's cloudy in seattle right now, so im getting this cute "umbrella" filled bus stop. The other days, there was a boy eating stacks on ice cream -just as high as these umbrellas. This theme made me happy :)
