Tilt-Shifting for a Fake Miniature Look

Helpless from Keith Loutit on Vimeo.

The Sydney based fotographer, Keith Loutit, is amazing at this. Basically, Tilt-Shifting use two different types of movement of the camera: rotation of the lense to the image plane (tilt) and movement of the lense parallel to the image plane (shift). This technique made a part of the image appears sharp, while the other are blurred out, thus creating a fake sense of depth - which leads to the fake miniature look. usually it requires a special lense, but if anyone knows how to do it without - that would be awesome. for now, enjoy these videos.
