How to Keep Holding On

Image
Here are some reasons that kept me moving from time to time: 1. Remembering the great things God has made in my life, and knowing that better things are yet to come. 2. Being and having friends without any means of practical benefits. 3. The little funny things i could find around me, and how i was there to witness that scene. It's like life is giving me a reason to take things all in. 4. Time and time again, remembering the impossible things that was made possible, always got me in wonder. That this life is not my own, there's something bigger out there totally "looking out for me" -quoted from Marlon. Back to my point, i think God is really amazing. Despite the situation and the craziness of life, He's there to show His never ending promise to keep you alive and well. Again, despite how bad your situation is --that situation might change in a moment's notice. You just wait (the wait could get tedious, but don't give up) and see (then rejoice and never fo...

All Girlie and Flowery

Image
I'm feeling girlie tonight. So, let's do something girlie. A list (yeah, most girls write lists) of flowers that i like. Let's not talk about things that i like, cause when i last did that... the post went from tagent to tagent. 1. Lily 2. Daisy 3. Bunga Sedap Malam which english name escapes me Most of the reason is because lily and sedap malam smells good, while daisy is so cute and bright that it always makes me happy. Those yellow-white wild flowers made me happy too. taken in Indo last year It's spring time around here and all sorts of flowers are blooming. Tulip season are off by now, Cherry Blossoms are too, some other flowers, however, are still in the process of blooming. like... me! ~yeah, go on, joe.

Tilt-Shifting for a Fake Miniature Look

Helpless from Keith Loutit on Vimeo . The Sydney based fotographer, Keith Loutit, is amazing at this. Basically, Tilt-Shifting use two different types of movement of the camera: rotation of the lense to the image plane (tilt) and movement of the lense parallel to the image plane (shift). This technique made a part of the image appears sharp, while the other are blurred out, thus creating a fake sense of depth - which leads to the fake miniature look. usually it requires a special lense, but if anyone knows how to do it without - that would be awesome. for now, enjoy these videos. Oh, NO! ngak ada disana. Johanna penuh doa - hati ketar-ketir mulut komat-kamit, naik lift pergi ke security room dan minta tolong cariin ipot-nya. Si Keith, nama security guardnya, suruh johanna tulis keterangan dan johanna cabut. Secara johanna juru teater, suara johanna masih positip dan bilang bai-bai sama keith sambil lempar senyum. padahal hati johanna penuh gemuruh dan angin baday (yeah, baday pak...

Persepolis Cover Art

Image
Did this earlier this semester. It's a cover art for a fantastic graphic novel about Iran before, during and after its war with Iraq. There was once when war wasn't a concern of mine. Yeah, i didn't agree to it, but it's not like it involves me or my family that i have to dwell in my disagreement to that. Then i read this book; Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi, and i was agitated with the war in Middle East. That was followed by a movie about the Afghanistan and Israel conflicts which title i couldn't recall. That movie made me realize that these people who are involved in wars is just as ordinary as i am. They could be me, i could be them. I could be the one crying in anguish because somebody bombed my house with my parents in it, and I could be the one strapped in wires and explosives all in the name of freedom. The war change people. I mean, they set a different course to life even when people don't feel it. It creates a new branch of mindset, a different approp...

Recolection

Image
johanna at cornish's print room. yeah, that's the London Calling shot back there. Im recollecting on how much my art style has evolved since last year. the green book i was holding was written first when i was in junior high, and last scrap-booked on mid 2008. the difference that i found is i am now so much more digital and though im still all into quirks and colors, im a tad more abstract. i am a lot more into hand-doodling rather than paper doodling - and im dang proud about that. me and my 7 year yournger sister. missed her loads. high school friends me, my mom and my sister. i missed my loud and over-excited family!!
