Honeycomb

Image
i've been searching for this recipe for so long that i've forgotten the name of the food. it took me about 15 minutes to search for the name of this candy again. and now... if only i could cook this... it'd be perr.fect. Ingredients 1 1/2 cups sugar 1/2 cup water 3 tablespoons honey 1/3 cup corn syrup 4 teaspoons baking soda, sifted Directions In a large saucepan, gently combine the sugar and water then add the honey and corn syrup. Boil until amber colored and the sugar looks like caramel. Add the baking soda, and with a wooden spoon, stir in gently. It will foam up a lot. Pour the mixture onto a silpat or a piece of parchment paper on a sheet pan, and let cool. Break into pieces.it'll only take 10 minutes!

a look for thanksgiving dinner

Image
Lia invited me to her family's thanksgiving dinner. i won't bring anything except for me and my sharp ass. i should have offer some kind of food to bring, like, chocolate caramel apples or orange glazed walnuts (Oooh, i just read that from http://candy.about.com/od/fruitnutcandy/r/orangewalnuts.html , and it sounds yummy!). but since i can't cook here, or i cannot make myself much of a trouble by cooking in somebody's kitchen. so, i didn't offer her any food to bring. sorry. Anyway, Devon and I are going to probably stay for the night. hope it's gonna be a fun night. i wish i could wear this. thanks by tresdivine

i was a bitch

Image
being not boring by tresdivine mind you, im being retrospective. we're going back to elementary school. i'll take this post as an apology too. cause i really felt bad about what i did years ago, when i thought i was "innocent". it seems that i was innocently acting like an airhead. so, it was grade 6 Supercamp. and it was time for the performance night. and my group was decing what to do. no one speak up, so i said i would sing a song. and none of them knows the song. so i told them to clap their hands along. then somebody said that we should sing sinchan's soundtrack. and though i dont know the whole lyrics, i aggreed to it ( i guess, i hope i did. if i didn't i'd be a flippin bitch). so we decided that i'd sing first, then we would sing the sinchan theme song. well, this is what pisses me off. My group really give me the flippin spotlight and let me sing while them doing the clapping (what a total dickface was i). some people from other groups actua...

punk and neo-soul

Image
i like music that could affect one's emotion. music that could cool you down when your heart is pounding, or the music that could help you focus on a boring home work when you're on an adrenalin rush. well, these two musicians are on my top list this month. however, most of those music has one similarity (despite the different gendres). They all have crazyly, hard to imitate chords. The ones with unpredicatble escalations and everything. Both of these two artists have that. Pink Spiders is an American indie alternative rock band. The band consists of Matt Friction the lead guitarist and vocalist, Jon Decious on bass guitar, and Bob Ferrari on drums. I love their choice of melody and chords. their music is the head-banging, all crazy, late night-crack-party song (not that i do any of those - never been to one and never wanted to join the "fun"). Tracks to listen to: Modern Swinger and Trust No One. I am planning to buy their album on itunes. until then, these tracks ...

twillight hotness

Image
im a bit late on this, so, sorry. but a little update from the twilight movie that's coming up this month... i gotta tell you about the cast' off screen hotness. From all the little movie clips i found in youtube, i managed to conclude that Robert Pattison is hotter in real life than when acting as Edward Cullen. You know that i have this little thing with facial hair (short goatee preferabbly), well this shot from instyle magazine blow me off my chair. major pattison hotness! and what's more, the shot includes one of my fave design form - bird house! Next shot that i was in love with was the one they took with Emmet -i pointed out in my first twilight post that this guy is the one to look forward to and i was right! his name is Kellan Lutz (even his name sounds hot). i was contemplating when i wanted to post a picture of him. there's this one extra-extra hot picture i found. but i think it might be too scandalous for my blog... so, i posted this one, which is smokin ho...

after sleeping at 4am constantly...

i found it really hard to stop opening the internet and actually go to sleep. so, im just gonna write something. cause for the last couple of blogs, i've been talking about fashion - thanks to antm. which reminds me, tomorrow is friday! and the AIGA group is having a tour of a design firm called SuperBig. change?

Image
never a game by tresdivine i dont know if handing the country to Obama will change the course of history. i hope it will. The point is, i am sick of war- for whatever reason there is to do one. I don't think that war for peace is acceptable. the death, the pain and the sufferings will never be forgotten... it's never a game, it's never something to be proud of. it should be stopped - no matter how late it is.

movies made my day

Image
After so long, so, so long wanting to watch these to movies. i finally had the chance to do so. first, i watched another rom-com tust to cool my mood before the two main ones that i planned to watch. So, i took a bite of Along Came Poly. Yeah, old movie, but i've been wanting to see it. Compared to other rom-coms i've watched, this is nothing special. I don't really enjoy Ben Stiller's romantic-comedy movies. Just because it tended to go... just a little off. Then, came the big part of the night. After taking a week's load of laundry to be cleaned, i watched Wanted. I had a lot of bad reviews on this. My brother, my seniors, my friends. the all said that Wanted is not as they expected it to be. I, on the other hand, think that Wanted is an amazing piece of work. Not only it has a great story line (quite unexpected turning points here and there) and fantastic choice of actors, there are some pretty amazing slow-motion shots. People said there are not as much "ac...

a look to my school life

Image
Introducing my weekly assigment. Due every Monday along with another mini assignment from the illustrator class - which i'm gonna show to you one day. i like my illustrator works better than photoshop... but, it is what it is. the main purpose of the project is to create different photo-realistic look to these 2 combined images. i was only allowed to use the two images, and no other images are allowed to be photoshop-ed in. i enjoyed this class, though sometimes it does get a little tedious and boring. i learned more from tutorials, rather than the teacher himself. but every time i have a question, or in need of a feed back, my teacher is the perfect way to go. and yes, i love my school. ps: i am not responsible for the type. but it is my favorite type; Rockwell. Next one on the line would be Georgia, Verdana then Helvetica.

obama - the president

Image
he won! shall i say more? Obama won. McCain had just finished his fantastically, heart felt speech of telling his supporters that he will support the new president. congratulations to all the people who vote for Obama, we won! i give all my prayers to the new president. this is a change. this is hope. Am now waiting for Obama's speech. untill then :') PS: thanks to starbucks for the free coffee for voters. i enjoyed it, though it disturbs my stomach.

i broke my promise

Image
so i broke my promise in order to write this post. because this is unreal! for those who have been reading my blog for quite some time, you'll know mr. peetsburg (the shy drummer boy from church way back when). no, i didn't met him in seattle. gosh, that would be awkward. but i just realized that he is going to Carnegie Mellon. Yeah, that university that i was aiming in the first place. That place that i ditched for WUSTL - and for Cornish for that matter. that got me thinking. i was so darn close. so DARN close!!!!!! if i just hell with my uncle's opinion about barren Pittsburg, i would probably be there. on second thought, maybe i wouldn't because my SAT score sucked bad. however, out of all the pain, i laughed. i laughed because i can't believe i still have the time to think about mr. peetsburg (when i actually have 2 home works to do!). shame isn't it?

music

Image
read this while listening to Yann Tiersen - Summer 89. seeing this picture, my mind starts shooting ideas like little explosives in my nerves then and there, i'll start filming another movie  another movie that the world won't see - hyde marge - I have always been in love with music.  But the way i enjoy music, isn't the same with other people.  i would always make a movie out of a song. Rarely a music video, more of a soundtrack of a movie or even a dance number shot like a movie and combined with imaginative movie scenes, and therefore make another kind of story. yes, i would make a story line. but unlike writers who have their writing blocks, i would go and imagine. Flicker images, movements and sets. I would play on impulses and never re-done any scenes that i have put in my head. I like to do these on composed soundtrack symphony like those of Yann Tiersen, Danny Elfman, and more. I became so attuned to the connection of rhythm and movement that sometimes i wonder if i...
